As I observe my own evolution through Kundalini, I have come to realize that we must experience pain or discomfort to evolve. Growth is painful and even can be frightening because we must face the unknown. I also believe the pain of our life must surpass the pain of evolving before we are willing to change and evolve. Let me explain.
If we are comfortable in our life existence, we will remain on this path of least resistance. We will continue on this inertial path through life. However, when we begin to experience the results of trauma, tragedy, abuse, war, divorce, job loss, homelessness, death of our loved ones, that comfortable existence begins to shatter, and we begin to experience emotional pain. It is at this point that we begin to take a good hard look at our lives.
This emotional pain must surpass the pain or discomfort associated with change to cause us to finally decide to change our lives and evolve. For many days, I have sat observing my own pain from childhood sexual, physical, and emotional abuse. This pain was so terrifying and frightening that I sought a different life through healing my emotional pain. However, the process of healing this emotional pain in itself is very terrifying and frightening when we recall and relive our past trauma. When my reality became so painful that it was intolerable, I set an intention to change my life and evolve in order to experience a different life.
This was a pivotal point in my life when I set an intention through courage to heal that part of me that is terribly broken and injured. I have spoken to others who experienced near death, homelessness, abuse, wars, and atrocities who also set this intention for a miraculous change in their lives. What others shared with me is that they needed to give up their current lives as they know it, in order to change and evolve to a better life. They gave up their lifestyles, marriages, friends, and even family in order to evolve. It is certainly no small endeavor, but it is well worth the rewards and blessings to follow.
As part of setting my intentions to change, I left two marriages, left my job, and moved to a different part of the country. There, I reunited with my twin flame, began my dream of playing with and writing music for a jazz ensemble, and started my own business. I gave up a lot, but I got back so much more! I am finally living a life I could not even have imagined. (Copyright 2019 Awakening Journey with All Rights Reserved.)
